An adventurous interpretation of Summit’s visual identity that I’d been looking forward to since the logo was standardized in 2019.

This treatment features a subtle gradient of brand colors, which expand beyond the bounds of the logo itself, and a repurposed fabric motif to add depth and create more of an environment for the simplified logo to live in.

It’s an inversion of the process of creating a new logo every year, where we find new ways to present the established visuals.

Being a virtual event for 2021, the concept was applied to our web presence, the event’s video broadcast platform, animated bumpers and promos, screen bugs, gift box materials, and anything else attendees would lay their eyes on.

This collection, similar to the Wake-Up Call Collections, was part of Eduventures Summit 2021. It’s a printed edition of case studies also available on the company website.

The more we interact with content on screens, pieces like this become more and more impactful. Weaving in the content, school logos, campus photography, and quotes was a good challenge, and the final product was a great centerpiece of the gift box that made the remote event just a bit more concrete.

These collections were part of Eduventures Summit 2019 and 2021, and are printed editions of selected posts from the Wake-Up Call weekly blog. The prints came out surprisingly elegant, and are a great way to showcase some of the banner artwork I create each week.

When I started at The Fenway Group, Fenway Printers and Sands Creative Group had merged into one business. Branding and messaging didn’t change until we got it right.

The Fenway Group logo is an amalgam of the strongest elements of the original two brands and represents a whole being great than the sum of its parts.

A suite of 3 reports from across the ACT | NRCCUA brand evolution. Read primarily in PDF format, the first is the standard template for the company's series of research. The following three are pre-rebrand Eduventures reports, each partnered with another firm and combining brands.

A different approach than the past summit logos, this year we developed an evergreen logo that represents both the past and future of Summit for ACT | NRCCUA. In addition to the usual program book and collateral, the scope was expanded to include counter and escalator cling graphics, retractable banners, featured research collection, and motion graphics for various media.

Elements in the logo were reserved for minor updates year-to-year, similar to the current evergreen Super Bowl logo in the NFL or the NHL’s Winter Classic logo system. The lower three-bar icon can be changed to indicate another location or theme, and the green base shape is ripe for subtle patterns.

Concepts included more nods to past logos in addition to motifs representing Boston’s (where the event is held) Zakim Bridge.

Eduventures’ annual Summit has a lot of good materials to come from theme brainstorming. Along with a striking icon, collateral and event signage come up everywhere.

Second and 10 was a yearlong project that set out to redesign the NFL’s past 10 years of templated Super Bowl logos.

The creative goal was to research the location of each year’s game and represent its best qualities through the lens of the established visual history of Super Bowl logos. Basically, what we thought the NFL would have done.

The work lives on the project’s website, which also breaks down the creative process and inspiration behind each logo. Each piece was rolled out sequentially in a 10-week social media campaign culminating on the Sunday of Super Bowl LIV.

Second and 10 continues its in-depth reimagining each year, with Super Bowl LVI up next.

Yeah, yeah. Go ahead and roll your eyes, it’s okay. Applying this music motif throughout the wedding was a lot of fun and creatively rewarding in a way I didn’t expect.
